Tangueros Y Tangueras, the Durango Tango Community is off to an early start on the new year. Last year we were fortunate to be able to have several Milonga D' Vine events at the Four Leaves Winery at 528 Main in Durango. They were well received by both our Tango community and the larger Durango community.
Our hosts at the Four Leaves Winery have again welcomed us into their great venue. We are having our first free Tango Milonga on December 10th from 7-9, and will continue after that on the 2nd Tuesday's of the month until April.
Again, these events will be put on by our hosts at Four Leaves Winery and our Durango Tango Community at no cost.
Four Leaves Winery offers a great variety of wines by the glass for your enjoyment. I really like the Malbec.
We encourage you to dress more formal than normal, and to wear have clean shoes that have a non marking smooth sole.
We continue to have guided Practicas on Sundays from 4:30-6:30 in the Durango Dance Studio. Join us this Sunday and hone your skill to be ready to Tango at the Milonga D'Vine on the 10th. If you know anyone interested in exploring this fascinating dance please tell them about our Practicas and invite them to join us. As always there is no experience or partner required.
We cheerfully accept donations at the Practicas to cover the cost of the studio rent, and to assist in bringing you more Tango activities.such asLast May we were lucky enough to be able to have Mike and Carrie from Taos here for a workshop. They will be here again February 8th and 9th. They taught the beginners track at the Albuquerque Tango Festival that several of our members went to and came away with great comments. Class content and costs are yet to be determined and we will post it as soon as it is.
Mike and Carrie have been teaching since 2009 and are a fun and dynamic couple, you can check them out on their website, http://taostango.wordpress.com/
