Mike Malixi and Carrie Field

Bio
Mike Malixi and Carrie Field have been teaching Argentine Tango in Taos, New Mexico since 2009. Mike has performed with Luciana Valle, Tara Fortier, and Alicia Pons. Carrie holds a bachelors degree in Dance and has taught Pilates, Yoga and Gyrotonic® for the last 19 years and holds certifications in all three practices. Mike and Carrie have taught at the San Diego Tango Festival and Denver Tango Festival. As Taos Tango, they teach with the University of New Mexico and are committed to building a community of dancers in Taos.
Their dance and teaching style has been influenced by their many trips to Buenos Aires and studies with Julio Balmaceda, Corina de la Rosa, Cecila Garcia, Mariella Sametband and Gustavo Naveira.
Mike and Carrie’s distinct tango philosophy is based in martial arts and a passion of the mechanics of the moving body.

Perri and the gang met with the owners of Four Leaves Winery and have arranged another Milonga for us at the winery. Join is for Tango, conversation and a glass of Malbec.
Four Leaves Winery is located across from the train station in Durango.

Silvina Valz
Tango is a collaboration between two people to attempt an interpretation of music through dance. Because it is an attempt, there can be no mistakes. If each partner is honest in their efforts a part of themselves will be exposed to the other, like two confidants sharing a secret without words.

Tango dancing, milongas, cabeceo, intrigue and so much more....
